Thyroid General Information

Thyroid is part of a class of medications called thyroid agents. Thyroid agents are drugs that replace the hormone thyroid, which the body typically produces naturally. The drug Thyroid (desiccated thyroid) is used to treat conditions such as hypothyroidism and goiter. It is also sometimes used in diagnostic tests for thyroid disorders.

How does Thyroid work & What does it do?

Thyroid is a replacement hormone for the naturally-produced thyroid hormone in the body. Thyroid hormone is produced by the thyroid gland.

The body's thyroid gland is important to metabolism, the chemical process in the body which produces and uses energy. The body's metabolism is regulated by the thyroid gland, pituitary gland, and the hypothalamus. It is in the cells of the body where energy is actually produced and consumed. Thyroid hormones help enzymes and electrolytes pass into cells, and they assist the process of energy production in the mitochondria. Thyroid hormones also have an effect on how the body uses electrolytes, proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, fats, and water. They also play a part in regulating the immune response of the body.

When/How is Thyroid taken/used/applied?

Thyroid comes in the form of a tablet and is to be taken by mouth. It is normally taken once a day before breakfast and should be taken at the same time every day. Follow the directions on the prescription label and take Thyroid exactly as directed. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If it is close to the regularly scheduled dose, then take this dose instead. Do not take two doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your doctor is you miss two or more doses in a row.

My thyroid medication arrived in the mail today, which reminded me that I should take a quick moment and say 'thank you' for the effort you put in to my order. Times are tough in the states, and I like you're there for me.
