A proper balance between fat, protein and starch intake must be maintained to avoid temporary indigestion. Use with caution in patients sensitive to pork protein.

Each orange capsule with enteric coated microspheres contains: lipase 20 000 USP units, amylase 55 000 USP units and protease 55 000 USP units. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cellulose acetate phthalate, colloidal silicon dioxide, cornstarch, D&C Yellow No. 10, diethyl phthalate, FD&C Red No. 40, gelatin, opacode S-1-4126 (print ink), povidone, propylene glycol, propylene glycol monostearate, silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, sucrose and talc. Each white capsule contains: lipase activity of 8000 USP units, amylase activity of 30 000 USP units, protease activity of 30 000 USP units, mixed conjugated bile salts 65 mg, cellulase 2 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, gelatin, magnesium stearate, opacode S-1-4126 (print ink), precipitated calcium carbonate, silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate and titanium dioxide. Tartrazine-free. Bottles of 100.
Warnings
In the event that capsules are opened for sprinkling the powder on food or drink or for any other reason, care should be taken so that powder is not spilled on hands or inhaled since it may prove irritating to the skin or mucous membranes.
These warnings are particularly applicable to allergic persons.
Contraindications
Allergy to porcine protein.
Adverse Effects
As with any pancreatic extract, hyperuricosuria or hyperuricaemia due to the purine content of the product may occur at very high dosage.
Indications
Pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy in established pancreatic insufficiency where pancreatic enzymes are absent from or present in insufficient amount in the intestine: pancreatectomy, chronic pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, steatorrhea and other malabsorption syndromes in which fat digestion is inadequate because of deficiency of pancreatic enzymes.
Dosage
The capsules should be taken orally with each meal or snack. Average dose: 1 to 3 capsules with each meal and 1 capsule with each snack as directed by physician. They can either be swallowed whole, preferably with some fluid, or can be opened and the contents sprinkled on food or drink.
