Each vial of sterile white to pale yellow crystalline powder contains: ceftriaxone sodium (expressed as anhydrous free acid), equivalent to ceftriaxone 0.25 g, 1 g or 2 g; and as a pharmacy bulk vial containing the equivalent of ceftriaxone 10 g (not for direct administration). The availability of the pharmacy bulk vial is restricted to hospitals with a recognized i.v. admixture program. No added excipients. Sodium content of each gram of Rocephin is approximately 83 mg (3.6 mEq sodium ion). pH 6 to 8. Solutions are yellowish in color.

Sterile powder should be stored at a controlled room temperature (between 15 and 30°C) and protected from light.
